What do you feel
about Salzburg?

Salzburg holds a very special place in my heart. My musical journey here began in 2018 when I won first prize at the International Mozart Competition. I have visited this beautiful city on numerous occasions, but the festival atmosphere in particular is truly magical and one of a kind. I am so happy to be a part of it this year.

If you could only listen to one piece forever, what would it be?

Symphony No. 2 by S. Rachmaninoff.

What is the same and different
about you and Zerlina?

While I share Zerlina’s courage and determination, I don’t believe she’s as naive as some might initially think. Her interactions with both Don Giovanni and Masetto are conscious choices, which I find questionable. For me, honesty and devotion are paramount in relationships.

Which book has influenced
you the most?

The Master and
Margarita
by M. Bulgakov.

Which episode of Romeo Castellucci’s
production is your favorite?

I have many favorite moments in Romeo Castellucci’s production of Don Giovanni. One that immediately comes to mind is the moment when the symbolic golden apple is slowly lifted from the ground shortly before the famous Là ci darem la mano duet. I find this moment not only meaningful but also aesthetically pleasing.

Music to describe the spirit of Utopia?

The second movement
of W. A. Mozart’s
Piano Concerto No. 21.
