Salzburg Festival | Don Giovanni

This summer, the Utopia Orchestra and Choir will be back to the Salzburg Festival to present Mozart — Da Ponte’s Don Giovanni.

The thrilling stage production of Mozart’s milestone opera by Romeo Castellucci and Teodor Currentzis premiered three years ago. Castellucci’s reimagining of Don Giovanni promises a fresh interpretation of the legendary myth. This deeply psychological drama delves into the depths of Don Juan’s character, revealing hidden layers within the playful “giocoso” facade. The director’s vision places a poignant focus on the women abandoned by Don Juan, culminating in a powerful Act II where dozens of women reclaim their agency, presence, and stories.
